Ms. Frederick will be teaching Latin to grades 4th through 10th. She has had the joy of teaching for 44 consecutive years in a variety of positions in both public and

private schools. She also taught 3rd and 4th Grades in several traditional Christian schools in Kansas. She developed a program for gifted and talented students in Vernon Hills, IL where she served as the director of the program as well as a teacher. She taught in a Montessori program for several years in Kansas and has found the strategies and methods that she learned there to be invaluable.

She redefined the Latin program and taught Title I students in the Richardson ISD for 7 years. The last 8 years of her career, she had the privilege of teaching Latin at Providence Christian School of Texas where she had the opportunity to restructure and expand the program for the 143 students she taught. The students were highly successful on the National Exploratory Latin Exam, National Mythology Exam, and the National Latin Exam. She is looking forward to working with the students at the Camerata School.

Ms. Frederickgraduated from John Brown University, BSEE, Summa Cum Laude and completed her Graduate work in Gifted Education at National Louis University.

She attends Christ Church Plano and has been so blessed since 2008 to have had the weekly privilege of worshipping in the Anglican tradition. My faith has been deepened in this time. She attends various Bible studies, participates in a small group, and helps with projects such as the Thanksgiving project and Back to School event.

Ms. Frederick retired from teaching two years ago to build a home in Rockwall and have some time to pursue travel and other interests. When she learned about the Camerata School, she knew in her spirit that God wanted her to teach at our school and help develop the Latin program. She loves working with young people and is excited to open their eyes to the wonders of the Latin language.

Ms. Frederick loves to travel and is working on getting as much international travel in over the next few years as possible. To date, visiting the Holy Land has been her most significant experience. She has a long bucket list. She loves to garden! She enjoys collecting odd musical instruments and works at playing them as a novice.  She has four Shih Tzu who run her exercise program as they love their morning and afternoon walks. She enjoys musicals, symphony, and friends. She finds great joy in all that God has placed in her life.

Her life verse is Proverbs 3:5-6“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
